Addressing food insecurity through a comprehensive approach that considers affected individuals and families' immediate and long-term needs in Angelina County, including, but not limited to, increasing access to affordable, healthy foods, providing financial support, and addressing systemic issues such as income inequality and lack of affordable housing by also addressing the root causes of food insecurity can potentially improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities. My graduate project during my internship explored the significant issue of food insecurity in Angelina County, Texas. This project was conducted in partnership with the Angelina County and Cities Health District, where I aimed to analyze the factors contributing to food insecurity in the area and identify potential solutions to improve the community's access to nutritious food. Through this work, I gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by residents and the initiatives being implemented to address this pressing concern. Show less
