  • The Physical Activity and Nutritional INfleunces In ageing (PANINI) project is a European Commission, Horizon 2020 funded programme; consisting of eight world-leading academic institutions, renowned for their work in ageing research, and 10 industrial partners also in this area.• As a Research Fellow, I am responsible for primary data collection (both quantitative and qualitative) aimed at building a large shared dataset of demographic, physical activity, nutrition and genetics related data of older adults in Europe.• I am also engaged in multi-disciplinary, international collaborations, with dissemination a core tenant of the project.• Responsible for administrative activities associated with the delivery of the project.• Responsible for managing my own doctoral research, including study design, ethical approval, data collection and analyses, producing high quality publications, scientific abstracts, and presentations at national, and international conferences.• Responsible for co-creation, planning and delivery of scientific and public engagement conferences to disseminate the findings of my research.   • My Honorary Research Fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham predominantly pertains to my research in the geriatric department of the hospital, assessing the feasibility and impact of specially adapted exercise interventions, aimed at improving the multi-dimensional health of frail geriatric delayed transfer of care patients. • This includes working within a multi-disciplinary team (consultant geriatricians, junior doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and research fellows), and regularly attending multi-disciplinary team meetings.   The Irish LongituDinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) is a large-scale, nationally representative, longitudinal study on ageing in Ireland, the overarching aim of which is to make Ireland the best place in the world to grow old.TILDA collects information on all aspects of health, economic and social circumstances from people aged 50 and over in a series of data collection waves once every two years. TILDA is unique amongst longitudinal studies in the breadth of physical, mental health and cognitive measures collected. These data, together with the extensive social and economic data, makes TILDA one of the most comprehensive research studies of its kind both in Europe and internationally. Show less

  I joined the Discipline of Public Health and Primary Care at the Institute of Population Health at Trinity College Dublin in January 2024 as a Senior Researcher working and leading on large randomised controlled trials in primary care and evidence synthesis for national clinical guideline development at the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), in collaboration with the Department of Health and HSE, as part of the Collaboration in Ireland for Clinical Effectiveness Reviews (HRB-CICER).
