  • Idealization of real-time requirements (developing and implementing a field simulated test method for long-term performance prediction) of soft armors; conception of research strategies; and assisted for formulation of a research proposal (approved and sanctioned by the Armament Research Board, CDSW Panel, DRDO, 2021).• Development of the test methodologies and process parameters to simulate real-field conditions of soft armor.• Evaluation of the time-dependent changes in physicochemical, microstructural, mechanical and ballistic properties using FTIR, XRD, UV-Visible, SEM, DSC, TGA, Rheometer, and UTM, etc. to interface micro with macro aspects under field-simulated conditions.• Quantification of the reaction kinetics from time-dependent responses of different properties to ascertain potentially contributing factors to the long-term ballistic performance of worn armors.• Proposed a correlation between microstructure and ballistic property by empirical modelling and validated the predicted ballistic performance satisfactorily by the experimental field test data. This established the test method and also mitigated the extra need for expensive and destructive ballistic testing.• Contributed to the technological advancement for future armor testing program by designing and fabricating an in-house synergistic chamber (commissioned, and presently in operation).
