This school taught the international Cambridge curriculum, a curriculum known for incredibly high standards. Leaving me to learn things I am not interested in at a very high standard. What made it more challenging was that I had just moved from the UK where the schooling curriculum, teaching approach and school culture was completely different.I had to adapt quickly, I had to step out of my comfort zone and look at the situation from the outside. From there I realised that procrastination is the road to failure, instead of moaning about the challenge, I embraced and worked at it to the best of my abilities. By doing this I found that I gained an ability to adapt when push comes to shove. I believe, this is a crucial ability to have especially in the modern-day IT space. With technology changing day by day, being able to adapt like this gives me that edge when it comes to designing modern IT solutions. Show less

  My father got the opportunity to work for a company in England and wanted us all as a family to move with him. I was 11 years old when I moved. To overcome this, I learnt how to open my mind up to various different cultures, and in understanding them I could relate to the people around me as well as make friends a lot easier. As a result, I excelled in many of my subjects because I could talk to the people around me and work together as a team. I learnt to respect other people for their differences and in learning about them it made it easier for me to integrate into other environments. Show less

  I started my education in a pre-school called Summerhill College which taught an approach called Study Tech. The approach not only taught us subjects, it also taught us how to learn through a course called Learning How To Learn (by L. Ron Hubbard). It was based on understanding barriers to learning and techniques to overcome them. It gave me a strong learning foundation which I’ve applied ever since.

  My aim after school has always been to study towards an IT specific degree and explore the world of IT or more specifically the world of IT in the game development space. Here is where I truly excelled and honed my skills in IT, taking what I learnt from past challenges I pushed myself harder to learn more and more.Our projects were centred around problems faced by an imaginary company that could be solved by an IT solution designed and built by us. Here is where I truly excelled and honed my skills in IT, taking what I learnt from past challenges I pushed myself harder to learn more and more.Our projects were centred around problems faced by an imaginary company that could be solved by an IT solution designed and built by us. We'd play various IT roles which in the end taught me how to analyse various IT problems, and instantly start designing solutions.Due to my creative and ambitious side my designs are never basic because I enjoy taking the paths less travelled since I feel you learn and gain better knowledge and experience taking these approaches; usually ending up with a solution that is original and perhaps even more efficient in nature. My programs have been called out by my lecturers on multiple occasions as the benchmark for the rest of the class. Show less
