  My core responsibility was to provide analytical support to the Primary Care Trust. This included the development and maintenance of data collection systems and the production of regular and ad-hoc reporting for all areas of the organisation. I was also responsible for the completion of several statutory returns.I gained a great deal of knowledge in my first role in the NHS, being exposed to all areas of the organisation. I gained particular expertise in the area of Payment by Results which enabled me to take an active role in the organisation’s activity and cost modelling programme.My technical knowledge helped me greatly in my analytical role. Giving me the ability to develop new and improve existing processes, increasing production efficiency and quality.Due to my technical skill set I became the lead for the development of the organisations first data warehouse solution. This enabled me to automate many data processing tasks freeing up analytical staff time to focus on more qualitative tasks rather than pure data processing. In 2005 I was recognised for my data warehousing achievements by being awarded the organisations ‘Unsung Hero Award’.Over time my role evolved to become more related to systems development. This change was formalised during our organisations transition to become North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus when my job role changed to Systems Developer. Show less

  NHS Yorkshire and Humber Commissioning Support was established in October 2014 with the merger of my previous employer NHS North Yorkshire and Humber CSU and NHS West and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw CSU. I worked in the Digital Solutions Team as part of the Technology & Intelligence department.I mainly specialised in the development of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server platform. I was the data warehouse lead for the organisation for several years serving a number of varied customers including NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups, GP practice consortia, the mental health provider NAViGO as well as providing solutions internally. Notable solutions I developed included the automation of Payment by Results national tariff costing processes to inform SLA monitoring and hospital activity modelling, as well as the design and implementation of near real time urgent care reporting for the local health community.I was also responsible for the implementation of a data warehouse solution for our local mental health and social care provider NAViGO. Mainly taking feeds from their Patient Administration System (PAS) I produced several complex service specifications with multiple levels of drilldown to their exact requirements. I also developed the process to fully automate the production of their Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Data Set return which resulted in significant time savings for the provider.I was also responsible for SQL Server administration covering server builds/maintenance, performance monitoring and security configuration.
