  Versatility, skill, and ingenuity were shown as I provided an array of services for adults and children in Day Spring Outpatient Clinics in both Hot Springs and Rogers, Arkansas. Preschool, elementary-aged children, teens, and adults decreased symptoms of a variety of mental illnesses while being seen individually, within families, and in groups. Parent-Child Relational Therapy decreased risks for preschoolers I served at an off-site Head Start. My skills, strong work-ethic, and commitment to excellent service was eviidenced while serving in a variety of settings: adults in groups in DaySpring Day-Treatment Program, children in Summer Therapeutic-DayTreatment and individuals of all ages at the Out-Patient Clinic. After my parents became ill, returning to Northwest Arkansas prevented me from accepting a position as director at DaySpring Behavioral Health in Hot Springs. Training was provided for staff and parents at these locations: Garland Country HeadStart, LifeStyles Inc, in Fayetteville, AR, Northwest Arkansas HeadStart, and with teachers in the Roger's School System involving a number of mental health topics.   At Pinnacle Toastmaster's Club as V-President of Education I coordinated and scheduled club members participation in weekly meetings, so they could meet the club's and their individual goals for advancement in their speaking or leadership track. Serving as secretary for a brief period for the club allowed me the opportunity to take minutes of the meetings, record and file documentation from Toastmaster International and club membership. I was presented with the Best Member of the Year Award in 2011. Show less

  Public and Private Mental Health Facilities across the State of Arkansas were audited and plans of correction were developed and implemented. Mental Health Providers were open to change and correction as my approach was friendly, oriented toward service and not punitive. My thoroughness and accuracy in reviewing files and in report-writing were consistent with standards and guidelines maintained by APS Healthcare.   Over a period of several years, I counseled individuals and family members, preschool through adulthood, that needed comprehensive assessments and therapeutic services in a residential, acute and out-patient setting. My adaptability, varied educational background, and training contributed to my success in serving clients of diverse populations; whether by age, presenting problems, socio-economic status or severity of illness. My proven track record as an expert witness and my ability to develop excellent rapport with both adults and children allowed me to serve difficult populations with unique needs (juvenile sex offenders and adults and children that had been victims of domestic violence and abuse). My leading of individual, family and group therapy sessions resulted in change which led to timely discharges or the provision of lesser restrictive services. Working closely with local, state and federal agencies in the community, legal, medical, and educational professionals resulted in collaboration and easy integration back into the community. Senior adults resolved or improved communication, social, and behavioral issues while attending the Senior Expressions group therapy sessions I led two to three days per week for three sessions per day. Creative strategies I developed using artwork facilitated compliance, motivation for change, and the significant decrease in individuals fifty-five years and older's symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders.   I'm transitioning from providing mental health services as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist to working with individuals, employees, and companies in "Making A Difference" in their personal and professional lives. I've worked as a supervisor and employee in both excellent work environments and in those less desirable.   I contract with The Art Location to teach workshops and classes for adults and children. I also teach art classes to muti-cultural women in Bentonville. Helping other's feel empowered to develop their artistic skills is my mission. Art is a way of communicating the beauty and divine nature we all possess. Through the use of watercolors, acrylics, collage, drawing, and pastels, individuals can explore and appreciate the treasures hidden within themselves.
