  Teaching Assistant

  As a teaching assistant my role included providing support for staff during lesson time, planning and presenting lessons for students using a range of teaching methods such as "chalk and talk," peer teaching and one-on-one tutoring.The role was part of the Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme and as such meant I was also responsible for keeping a weekly journal analysing and reflecting upon what had been observed at school and recording relevant research.

  Responsibilities included designing, testing experiments to show the principles of physical concepts to students as well as ensuring equipment is safe, maintaining and repairing -or organising repair of when necessary- and risk assessments were up to date. Beyond this, I often assisted in classrooms, demonstrated experiments to non-physics teachers and accompanied and supervised students on a college trip to CERN.
