  Duty Manager of Wirral’s largest leisure centre which is an 83 acre site with a leisure centre over 3 floors including swimming pool and gym, athletics track, ski slope and a variety of outdoor football pitches and a cricket pavilion. I worked in a variety roles when starting my career in leisure services. I was a beach lifeguard then pool lifeguard before training as a swim teacher, aqua instructor and a RLSS Trainer Assessor. Throughout this period I also trained in other areas and wanted to succeed and enjoy a varied career. This is where my management career then started.

  Worked on a national pilot scheme to get more Over 50’s on Wirral swimming. Whether that be taking their Grandchildren swimming, or attending an Aqua aerobics class or swimming recreational. Making improvements to sites to encourage safer environments for this age group. Also set up a swim buddy scheme.

  In my current role with the Active Well-being Team gives me the amazing opportunity to work with so many people from all different backgrounds, finding new ways to getting them active. I specialise with Older Adults and Falls Prevention and also Active Outdoors and Active Travel. I coordinate the Ramblers Wellbeing Walks across Wirral which includes training new walk leaders. Wellbeing Walks Wirral offer free walks to the local residents who have a wide variety of walks to choose from with some amazing volunteers. I also coordinate Run in Wirral, which host a wide variety of running groups across Wirral. We cater for abilities and have amazing volunteer run leaders who enrich and change people’s lives. I am also a Breeze Ride Leader and Let’s Ride Leader and Balanceability Instructor. Open Water Swimming is a passion of mine and I am an Open Water Swim Coach, working with British Triathlon Go Tri will be coaching at our very own local marine lake on the Leisure Peninsula. My passion is getting people to try new things, push themselves out of their comfort zone and support them. We need to give people the opportunity to try new things and find what works for them. Once they have found that “thing” then they are more likely to stick at it and make life changing commitments. I develop and work with amazing volunteers who are great ambassadors to activity.
