      Generally, establishing a new discipline such as Biomedical Informatics (BMI) in Egypt is a challenging task. So, we-at BMICoE-were focusing not only on problem solutions but also for sustainable and reliable processes that solve current and future ones. This can be achieved by establishing new educational and training programs in addition to research and collaboration in BMI that address national and regional needs.Also, I find it very interesting to work on offering logical and technical solutions that address semantic interoperability for integrating both phenotypes and genotypes. This is to serve personalized medicine, that can revolutionize medical care services by offering new ways for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Show less
