      Jan 2009 - Jan 2012
      Volunteer Fundraising

I was responsible for a cheeky desk calendar called Phallusies that was used as a fund raiser for A Loving Spoonful. It featured photos I took of nude men and, to quote Ken B., one of the models, "The premise of the calendar is a play on the notion of the “phallus” and the “fallacy,” or a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc. By posing with an object (of the model’s choice) in place of their own phalluses, the models play up the fallacy of the phallic object." It was a huge success and I did it for three years running. Show less

      Jan 2010 - Jan 2010
      Participant

My experience with the North Shore Compass Society was life changing. I was 53 years old, recently laid off a job I loved and had no idea what I was going to do with my life from that point forward. The month long program I participated in helped me open myself to so many possibilities that I had not considered before. I firmly believe that through the encouragement and mentorship I received from the staff at North Shore Compass Society I now have three published books in two years and am working on a fourth, and I have found the work I want to do for the rest of my life.
