      During my final semester at Mizzou, I participated in the International Trade Center's Internship Program to fulfill my final elective credits. I chose to do the internship instead of taking another management elective so that I could gain a unique experience working with a mid-west company that is looking to expand their business internationally and learn the ins and outs of international trade. My responsibilities as an intern include the following:-Worked as a team with 3 other interns to create a customized research project for our assigned company-Utilized a variety of exclusive international trade data sources to compile enormous amounts of trade flow data into a market selection matrix excel spreadsheet -Participated in a midpoint meeting with the company to discuss the market selection matrix and select the primary indicators that the company wanted to focus on including things such as GDP, population, disposable income per capita, consumer spending, and many more-Generated a list of countries that ranked well in the companies chosen indicators to identify the leading market entry opportunities-Conducted intensive qualitative and quantitative market research on the final four countries that our company had chosen-Compiled our country market research data and provided our partner company with actionable information that can be used to aid in their international market entry or expansion decisions-Presented a PowerPoint summary of our findings to all of the participating businesses at the end of the semester and provided our assigned company with a written 70+ page report of our findings Show less
