This included action work outs, value stream mapping, TAKT/Cycle Charts, GEMBA walks, and deep dives to free bottlenecks, reduce excess inventory, and reduce setup time. Installed FIFO lanes, KanBan boards, & Supermarkets in increase information and product flow. - Implemented J85-8 process change on rotor stages 5, 6, and 7 to robotic 1-heat 2-hit extrude/preform (hot airfoil forging process). Eliminated 7 operations resulting in savings of $4/pcs (~$410,000/yr. for 2019 demand)-Process improvements made to reduce roll setup time on existing lines. Reduced avg. setup from 3.5 hrs. to 2 hrs. on 5 stages.-Ran EHS/Lab tests & trials for forming lubricant replacement. Tests included IGA, Surface finish, Alkaline clean / water-break, lab cut-ups, & automation cell runoffs. Show less
