Performed PFMEA and P11TF17 analysis- Process engineer for cooling plate and retainer product family that accounts for 36% of Asheville shop volume (~3500 parts/year) and 17.5% of shop cost output.- Certifying Agent for P11TF17 (Turning)- Lean Transformation Steering Committee member for rotating parts value stream (Asheville)- Member of the Model Based Manufacturing (MBM) NX CAM RPVS Standards Committee. Responsible for implementing 8 family stages of compressor airfoils into auto roll cell, & auto coin/trim cell. Completed first articles, and substantiation of significant processes. These stages impact CF6, LM2500, LM5000, & TF39 engine lines. Potential to reduced Legacy product costs by $650,000/yr.-Performed proposal work for project funding on additional cold forging automation line; cash flow analysis (NPV, IRR, Payback), capacity studies, and PowerPoint presentations. Won approval for $2.6M future 2019 auto line.-Supported LEAN Transformation for FBM/PRG Business. This included action work outs, value stream mapping, TAKT/Cycle Charts, GEMBA walks, and deep dives to free bottlenecks, reduce excess inventory, and reduce setup time. Installed FIFO lanes, KanBan boards, & Supermarkets in increase information and product flow. - Implemented J85-8 process change on rotor stages 5, 6, and 7 to robotic 1-heat 2-hit extrude/preform (hot airfoil forging process). Eliminated 7 operations resulting in savings of $4/pcs (~$410,000/yr. for 2019 demand)-Process improvements made to reduce roll setup time on existing lines. Reduced avg. setup from 3.5 hrs. to 2 hrs. on 5 stages.-Ran EHS/Lab tests & trials for forming lubricant replacement. Tests included IGA, Surface finish, Alkaline clean / water-break, lab cut-ups, & automation cell runoffs. Show less
