  • Experience

    • Lincoln Electric

      Jun 2006 - Jun 2007
      Mechanical Engineer

Lincoln Electric designs and manufactures all aspects of welding machines and consumables using vertically integrated manufacturing techniques. As a recent graduate, I worked a one-year rotational program where I learned about and contributed to new product development, failure analysis, testing, quality assurance, and manufacturing optimization.

    • EchoStar Corporation

      Sept 2007 - Sept 2014
      Sr. Mechanical Engineer

EchoStar Corporation designes hardware and software products for use in the satellite TV industry. I was a design engineer specializing in outdoor antenna design and set-top-box enclosure design. This included designing for high volume metal stamping, injection molding and assembly line production. As the sole mechanical engineer on many new projects, I developed skills in plastic molding design, program management, supplier management, budgeting, SolidWorks, finite element analysis, prototype construction and communication across many functional groups. Employee of the Month EchoStar Corporation, Hardware Engineering Group Oct 2013 “For your extraordinary efforts in delivering a new, vertical 3-part enclosure design for the Wombat [set-top-box] program, including traveling to China for tool qualification and on-time part production. Jason also supported thermal modeling across multiple programs including the Super Joey, which contains a first-for-Echostar heat spreader. Employee of the Month EchoStar Corporation, Hardware Engineering Group Jan 2013 “For outstanding efforts on the broadband 69cm antenna project. When the program ran into significant production issues, Jason immediately worked with the supplier to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions, despite poor performance by the supplier. Jason’s efforts included analysis of supplier data, taking multiple system measurements, supporting on-site efforts at the supplier, and working closely with the project team to ensure production back up as fast as possible.… Show more “For outstanding efforts on the broadband 69cm antenna project. Jason’s efforts included analysis of supplier data, taking multiple system measurements, supporting on-site efforts at the supplier, and working closely with the project team to ensure production back up as fast as possible. Jason accomplished all of this while also supporting the Joey CR and Wombat [set-top-box designs]. Thank you, Jason, for a job well done!”Gregg MartchVP, Hardware Engineering Show less

You hit the ground running from day one with above-and-beyond execution by managing a design vendor and bringing up tooling and production smoothly at three antenna vendors simultaneously on a highly aggressive schedule. Under these challenging conditions, you did an excellent job in design, providing on-site support whenever needed, and skillfully adjudicating a stream of vendor design-for-manufacturability tweaks. Great job, Jason and thanks!”Gregg MartchVP, Hardware Engineering Show less
