      As a result of a Teaching Innovation Award, I worked on a collaborative research project between the Centre for Academic Practice and the Department of Politics, History, and International Relations. The project explored how postgraduate research students can help finalist undergraduates to plan and prepare for their dissertation projects.Outcomes from the project were presented at two international conferences (Teaching History in Higher Education, and the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning), and are being prepared for publication in Student Engagement in Higher Education.       My role led projects and carried out research to understand and develop the international and postgraduate student experience at Loughborough University. I undertook a wholesale review of the representation system for postgraduate research students, resulting in a new governance framework, structure, and elections process that came into effect in September 2018. I also undertook complex and extensive case work in the delivery of advice to students in conflict with the University (mitigating circumstances, appeals, complaints, disciplinaries, etc.), with a particular focus on doctoral researchers, international students, and cases of a sensitive nature.
