Studied Marine Engineering at Solent University, Southampton and served as Marine Engineering Officer on Bulk Carriers during the late 1970’s and 1980’s. In 1987 served briefly as Engineering Superintendent with Kappa Maritime in London before joining the Sea Fisheries Inspectorate working with the Fishery Protection Squadron of the Royal Navy. For the last twenty seven years I have specialised in marine wastewater management beginning in 1996 when I joined Hamworthy Wastewater Systems Limited where, as Marine Sales Manager, I travelled globally developing bespoke wastewater management solutions for all vessel types and specifically for the military and offshore markets. In 2006 I was invited to join the ACO Group to head up their newly formed marine division, ACO Marine, as Managing Director. ACO Marine have developed uniquely compact and affordable membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment systems, fully BV Type Approved to the new IMO MEPC.227(64) - including Section 4.2 relating to passenger vessel operations in MEPC.200(62) designated Special Areas - that allow this advanced technology to be fitted on even the smallest of vessels. The complete ACO Marine package also includes automated grease separator systems, black water vacuum generation, vacuum toilets, push-fit stainless and galvanised steel pipework systems and enhanced scupper and channel drainage components.Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
