My multi-faceted role was not only significant in enhancing our family business operations, but also directed me to pursue a career in the business world.

  As a fitness professional, I taught weekly high-intensity Zumba Fitness® classes at UNC Campus Recreation with approximately 60 patrons per class. I take great pride in promoting diversity and inclusivity; I taught participants aged 18-70 and incorporated a wide variety of exercises, catering to all patrons, diversifying the overall workout, and advocating for body positivity.For three years, I have attended Fit Expo, a conference for collegiate fitness professionals and personal trainers. There, I collaborated with other group fitness instructors to analyze the nature of our workout structure and improve the overall class dynamic aiming to cultivate a positive community for participants. In doing so, I received a scholarship at the 2020 Expo to continue my career as a dance fitness professional for World of Dance U-Jam Instructor Training. My experience as a Zumba Fitness® Instructor has also been philanthropic; in 2018, I hosted a Zumbathon® Charity Event and donated $700+ to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In the future, I plan to host more cardio dance and Zumba® events to give back to my local community. Show less

  Customer Experience Project Intern

  As an intern, I worked in the customer experience and marketing divisions of the company. My project was to create a quality report presentation; I interpreted data collected and presented to the CEO, operations manager, and customer support team, highlighting manufacturing issues in a professional business setting. To do so, I formulated data from 500+ customer feedback reports in Excel based on quality issues & rates of exchange. Additionally, I focused on digital content management by identifying translation errors present throughout the Tropicfeel website and revised them accordingly. To contribute to Tropicfeel's brand identity, I proposed solutions to prompt brand collaborations through cross-promotions, press articles, and general outreach. I also had the privilege of working as the lead sales representative at La Roca Village, and during my time, we increased our target international sales numbers by 90% in two weeks. Furthermore, my experience with Tropicfeel gave me immense insight into the fashion industry in a global context. Show less
