  The Affect Analysis Group (AAG) studies emotion and paralinguistic communication, such as facial expressions, to build computer software that automatically recognizes these indicators. I have been extensively trained and certified in Paul Ekman's Facial Action Coding System (FACS) which is currently the most comprehensive facial coding system. I have experience coding expressions in diverse populations of gender, race, and ethnicity. In the AAG, I have led and participated in extensive literature reviews, assisted in data management and cleaning, and worked closely with coworkers to code participants in the BP4D++ database. My responsibilities included establishing procedures for new interns, scoring Parental Stress Index questionnaires, sanitizing the office, filing, and accompanying Dr. Bernstein to court for his testimonies regarding child custody.

  I collaborate with coworkers to transcribe Newman-related content from the 19th century on REDNAL to make content more accessible for general users. Additionally, I proof-read texts, index, and create bibliographies for the Newman Studies Journal and Newman Review. I manage the social media presence of NINS on Facebook, X, and LinkedIn and facilitate the communication and networking of NINS with other academic institutions on these platforms. I also create bi-monthly email campaigns that reach over 1500 people and institutions. Show less
