      Harrier PDS Manager

      Within the role I was responsible for the support and upgrade of the Sea Harrier aircraft as part of the Military Aircraft business. This management role included the day to day interfacing with the UK MoD customer, pricing and delivery of Post Design Support tasking that ranged from minor maintenance to weapons or engine upgrades. During my time as the PDS Manager the Harrier GR9 concept was studied and the replacement engine, avionics suite and weapons upgrades were developed and in some cases trials completed.       Leader of the UK Defence Communications Systems Support Services Team responsible for the delivery of various support related programmes and functional leadership for Supportability Engineering.Managing a multi-site team of Project Managers, Repairs and Spares Managers, ILS Engineers and Training delivery team.Projects supported include various Naval Integrated Communications Systems, HF Radio network solutions and HF products overseas, Satellite Communications, Secure telephones and networks in the UK and overseas. I have spent considerable time overseas in the last three years and have personally been involved in the capture of over £400m of project work including a large (+£100m) communications project in Australia in 2013. Having left Selex ES in 2015 I am an independant consultant working across Project/Programme/Engineering Management, Support Solution development and Business Development/Strategy domains. I am currently providing Programme Management services to Ultra Electronics and the 2150 Sonar system for the UK Type 23 and Type 26 platforms.       Project Engineering Manager

      Leading the design, development and manufacturing of 9 complex modifications for an export maritime platform. During the 22 months I completed the delivery of a set of modification kits ready for delivery to an export customer for installation on the platform. My roles was to design and manufacture the full range of parts needed to form a modification package. This included the system engineering and integration of several of the systems, the development of a full set of installation drawings and instructions, all associated design documentation to satisfy the BAE Systems Life Cycle Management (LCM) governance processes and the placement of subcontracts to develop the hardware.Customer interaction, including overseas visits formed a significant part of the role and I was pleased to have acheived formal acceptance of the designs within my contracted milestones. The modifications will be installed at the next availablity period of the platforms by the waterfront team. Show less
