  Echt Gebeurd is een initiatief van Micha Wertheim en Paulien Cornelisse en een activiteit van Stichting Echt Gebeurd.Bij Echt Gebeurd vertellen mensen op een klein podium mooie, bijzondere of grappige verhalen over wat ze zelf hebben meegemaakt. Het idee voor Echt Gebeurd is geïnspireerd op het Amerikaanse ‘The Moth’, maar anders dan bij The Moth leest er bij Echt Gebeurd ook elke maand iemand voor uit zijn of haar puberdagboek.In de herfst van 2008 werd de eerste Echt Gebeurd georganiseerd in Toomler. Inmiddels zijn er ook al edities van Echt Gebeurd geweest op Lowlands, Crossing Border, Into the Great Wide Open, het IDFA en Theater Walhalla in Rotterdam.Echt Gebeurd heeft heel verschillende vertellers – veel van hen hebben geen podiumervaring. Daarom zijn er al veel mooie en bijzondere verhalen te horen geweest: van een politieman tijdens de kroningsrellen, van een vrouw die moest vluchten uit Iran, maar ook van een jongen die tegen wil en dank hoog op de lijst van een politieke partij terecht kwam.Zolang mensen kunnen praten, vertellen ze elkaar verhalen. In die zin is Echt Gebeurd verre van nieuw. Wel nieuw is dat we, omringd door tv, telefoon, internet, radio en film, niet meer gewend zijn om gewoon te luisteren naar iemand die een verhaal vertelt.Echt Gebeurd houdt het midden tussen theater en de verhalen die je elkaar vertelt na een lekkere maaltijd. Onze vertellers vertellen uit het hoofd, dus zonder aantekeningen of geleerde teksten. Show less
