  I worked for South Glos from its creation in 1996 to 2007, working my way up from child protection manager to Assistant Director, leading the disaggregation of children's social care from the previous social services department into the new CYP Department following the 2004 Children Act. I led the new CAF and Assessment processes, several restructurings, and helped the authority achieve Beacon status for investing in people in 2003, and then for LAC in 2007. I chaired any multi-agency initiatives, some of which achieved national recognition, and ran a safe and happy service with low turnover and good staff retention, plus good engagement with children and young people, recognised in the inspection regime in place at that time Show less
