  While studying for a BE Mechanical Engineering at Ramco Institute of Technology, RajapalayamI had the opportunity to undergo intenship training at The Ramco Cements. During this training period, we learned the process of making cement. We were trained in the processes and visited various departments to see machinery and equipment, including material handling devices like different types of conveyors and their working principles, and crushers. In the Raw Mill department, we studied the working principles of the raw mill and grinder wheels. The kiln is used to heat the raw materials from the raw mills, and another grinder is used in the cement mills. The cement mill produces powder particles, which are collected by a bag house using pneumatic principles. The packaging plant also operates with pneumatic principles.The entire process is controlled by the Central Control Room (CCR). Show less
