The platform will be constructed in two phases over this 26-acre land parcel. Phase 1 will cover the eastern rail yard (10th to 11th Avenue, 30th to 33rd Street) and Phase 2 will cover the western rail yard (11th to 12th Avenue, 30th to 33rd Street).1. Designed a new 13.2kV AC Power Substation and power distribution system for the LIRR's West Side Yard.2. The new substation will supply all existing and new yard facilities and was designed in accordance with NFPA 130, NFPA 70 NEC, IEEE Standards, Con Edison EO-2022 and LIRR Design Criteria. 3. Designed the medium voltage circuit breaker relay protection, DC control schematics and battery distribution systems.4. Developed electrical contract specifications describing equipment details, approved manufacturers and installation methods. 5. Worked with the Contractors on equipment installation details, phasing requirements and identifying potential construction issues. 6. Provided construction phase service support consisting of submittal and shop drawing review and approvals.Regional Transit Authority (RTA) North Rampart Street/St. Claude Avenue Streetcar Expansion - New Orleans, LouisianaThis project is part of RTA's French Quarter streetcar expansion project, which includes 1.6 miles of streetcar track from Canal Street to Elysian Fields Avenue.1. Managed engineers in the development of a new DC traction power substation containing two 1MW rectifiers used to support the expansion of the streetcar system onto Rampart Street.2. Responsible for the BIM/CAD standards for Electrical Engineering.4. Support projects in construction, working with the Construction Manager's office and Contractors to resolve requests for information (RFIs) and design changes.Management Responsibilities1. Lead a staff of 15 Electrical Engineers consisting of 3 managers and 12 design engineers. 2. Provide design and construction support to three Program Areas: Buses, Shops and Yards, Line Equipment and Line Structures.3. Review and provided technical direction on all AC power distribution designs.4. Utilize rail transit engineering industry standards for integration into NYCT Standards and Design Guidelines. Special InitiativeManagement of the Subway Action Plan (SAP) efforts related to the New York State Governor's Executive Order #168 declaring a disaster emergency at NYCT and directing immediate repairs to the Train Signal System and Infrastructure. This was an approximate $100M contract to be completed over 14 months. 1. Managed the efforts related to the replacement of 73 automatic transfer panels (ATPs), installation 162 emergency generator inlets (EGIs), and 322 Sag Correctors.2. Responsible for a consultant construction manager (CCM) and 3 Construction Contractors as they conducted surveys, developed engineering designs and calculations, completed environmental remediations and finally installed and commissioned all critical signal equipment.
