  I worked at the Shumka School of Dance as a junior dance instructor. I collaborated with a senior instructor to lead Ukrainian dance lessons for dancers aged 3-10 years old. I was responsible for assessing dancers' abilities and adapting dance lessons to fit the needs of the dancers. I also demonstrated and helped dancers in completing dance steps.

  I worked as a full-time nanny for two young children during COVid-19. My responsibilities as a nanny included creating daily childcare plans, organizing and supervising activities that were educationally stimulating, and maintaining their well-being and safety throughout the day. Additionally, I assisted in teaching Grade 1 concepts such as math addition, reading, writing, and letter recognition.

  As a Lululemon educator, I was responsible for educating guests on the different fabrics, fit, and functions of Lululemon products to help them find the best product for their needs. I worked to identify the needs of the guests, create opportunities for the guests to try the product, and encourage them in their decision.

  Research Assistant

  As a research assistant, I worked with Dr. Melissa Hills on her research project, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in the Biology Lab. The objective of this project is to identify learning barriers faced by students with disabilities and modify the biology laboratory course to implement the UDL framework to reduce those barriers and create an accessible course. I worked collaboratively to revise and modify learning materials to implement the UDL framework. I also worked individually to develop laboratory instructional videos that align with the UDL practices and accessibility guidelines for video instruction. While the UDL framework has been applied to many non-science disciplines, we explored ways that we can apply UDL to science labs to create an equitable and inclusive learning environment in STEM. This project will serve as a pilot project to implement the UDL framework in other post-secondary science labs. Show less
