I made so many friends and go to grow my skills so much over the course of three years.

      While working at Orchid Pictures my main job was to operate the camera for weddings and corporate events. I develop skills here like framing a shot on the go, how to think two steps ahead and know where the next shot would be. Working discreetly was a key part of the job as you needed to make sure you didn't distract people on their special day. I also recorded sound on the day utilising shotgun microphones as well as sennheiser wireless microphones. This was a key role in development of my video shooting skills. Show less

      As a deputy tutor I helped organise and run a multimedia class for 11-17 year old international students in the Serious Summer Fun program. This involved showing the students how to create stop motion animation, live action digital filmmaking, photography and Adobe Photoshop editing. I also shot and edited several promotional videos for the programme to be used on their website as advertising and to maintain a blog showing the students progress in the class.

      Over three days I worked with Redshoe Productions to produce and broadcast the Gradam Ceoil live from the Cork Opera House. My duties included erecting sets, ushering talent through the venue during the broadcast and helping the outside broadcast company during pre production.This was my first job working such a large scale production and by the end of the weekend I was more tired than I have ever been in my life. But it was definitely rewarding, and I learned a lot about the amount of coordination and teamwork it takes to pull off a large live broadcast. Show less

      As digital media manager my job was to organise a staff of two to create and upload promotional material for International House across social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. We also operated a Wordpress blog for parents of students to see what their children were learning while studying in Ireland. We also ran an afternoon digital media class for students, teaching them skills such as photography, video production and stop motion animation. It was a joy to teach and I always loved seeing people find their creativity and possibly a new lifelong passion. Our greatest accomplishment was that our Wordpress blog had the most engagement across all three campuses, beating out Howth and Dundrum. Show less

      While working at the Writers Guild I was tasked with handling large amount of data from the Irish scriptwriting industry. My main job was recording commissioned and paid work across film, television, theatre and radio and to process that data into a digestible format for use in the 2017 Zebbie Report. The other aspect of my jobs here was to help in organising and running the 2017 Zebbie awards. This is the guilds annual award ceremony for the best scripts written in Ireland. I helped organise the venue, catering and guest list. On the night I was in charge of the media to be shown on screen in front of the guild members and in an exciting moment I even presented the award for Best Radio Script. Show less

      Working for Picomms as a broadcast engineer my key role is the archival of Beta, LTO and DTF2 tapes onto an LTO 8 based archive. This archival is for Dail Eireann sessions going as far back as 1991 so they can be accessed by journalists, documentations and citizens alike.Outside of my archival role I also assist in the day to day running of studios and broadcast control rooms for live broadcasting of the Houses of the Oireachtas on Oireachtas TV.
