    • Action for Children

      Mar 2008 - Apr 2012

Management of the delivery of several projects, including:• SharePoint Implementation Project – managed the design of an integrated intranet and document management solution; engaged external consultants and internal stakeholders for design and sign off, coordinated training of key members of the IT team, and put an implementation plan in place.• Performance Management Project – total overhaul of the business processes, both for staff management and system administration, and development of an IT solution.• Telephone Billing Project – management of the development of various interfaces and SharePoint systems in order to be able to report billing and phone usage to staff and cost centre owners. Also delivery of the surrounding business processes for management of assets.• Systems Integration Project – rescue and management during the implementation phase; a highly complex cross-functional project with a budget of over 500K, stakeholders all over the organisation, and challenging external suppliers.Key Achievements:• Promotion of collaborative working via SharePoint at a time of critical organisational change.• Implementation of a systems load-testing environment; to maintain the quality of the existing systems and processes whilst introducing new modules, such as the Performance Management system.• Successfully mapped Telephony business processes for the support team enabling ease of procuring, distributing and maintaining phones. • The Systems Integrations Project handed over during implementation phase; it was failing due to lack of control over scope, budget and plan. Immediately gained control by putting in place a new plan, checkpoint reporting and change control process.• Key driving force in moving the Systems Development team from a waterfall to an Agile method of development – including introduction of a Kanban board. Show less Management of a wide range of projects to upgrade the infrastructure of Action for Children, including:• Data Storage and Recovery – the tendering and implementation of a new Storage Area Network• The Rebrand Project – IT work-stream of the organisational rebrand from NCH to Action for Children• Network consolidation project, including Citrix upgrade.Key Achievements:• During the Brand project, pro-actively sought to bring all aspects of IT from around the organisation to the attention of the overall project manager – and due to innate ability to explain highly technical concepts to a non-technical audience, became IT Project lead. • Effectively redefining the scope of the Data Storage and Recovery project; the project that was handed over was too technology-focussed, the requirement simply being to replace a storage and backup solution. The project became more meaningful, delivering to higher quality products which gave more benefit, once it was shaped around improving the processes of backups and monitoring. Show less
