  Student was actively involved in carrying out Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations on the aircrafts namely Westwind and Beechcraft jets. Under base maintenance within the hangar, several operations were executed such as refueling, hydraulics replenishment, landing gear servicing, pre-flight checks and so on. All the operations were carried out in accordance to ATA Chapters.   NSK Micro Precision delivers high quality miniature ball bearings. I was employed in a position of Mechanical Technician and placed at turning department within the organisation. I was required to calibrate the turning machines in order for the rings to be within the allowable range of dimensions. I was also rotated occasionally to work in the quality department to inspect mass production bearing's inner and outer rings using micro precision gauges. I had my first industrial exposure working in a rotational shiftwork which was physically tough and challenging for some time before I pursued my undergraduate baccalaureate. Show less

  We were required to arrange for an industrial visit to any engineering company that does manufacturing of the goods as a part of assignment for the course Introduction to Production and Manufacturing. First and foremost upon our arrival, we were briefed about the organisation, growing demand and the career opportunities. Senior engineer within the organisation was kind enough to share with us the manufacturing processes of their products.   25 students of UCSI University including myself were warmly welcomed upon arrival by Heineken Malaysia Berhad. The programme started with slides presentation by the staffs of Heineken which then followed by brewery plant tour.

  Co-Operative Placement / Internship 2018

  Internship programme was conducted in a company called Ampmech Sdn. Bhd. which specializes in explosion proof, electrical, instrumentation & mechanical and process equipment. The company provides technical expertise, solutions, and can customize or build product upon requirement by the customer alongside by providing Maintenance and Repair Operation (MRO) supply chain. Ampmech Group has 6 offices around Malaysia and the headquarters is situated at Damansara Jaya where the student was based to complete the training. The student was assigned to Production/Project Unit (PPU) department to do hands on work assembling products and items according to the requirement of the customer. Job scope of the student was to assemble Earthing boss, Radar Tank Gauging (RTG) instruments, AMIX Series Receptacle Combination, Remote Control Unit (RCU) model and Exe Junction Box. Throughout the four months of internship period, student was involved in company/industrial trainings and talks within the organisation such as ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System training. Student was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity as a Project Engineer in Supply and Commissioning of Radar Tank Gauging (RTG) for Chevron Sihanoukville Terminal at Cambodia. On top that, student was also given the opportunity to involve in a site survey at Webs Terminal, West Port Klang to quote for two jobs. In short, this internship programme has helped to ease the future transition of studies to work and was a good form of exposure on how to apply academic theories into real life situations. Show less
