Was explained an in depth account as to the implementation & operation of lean tools, techniques and principles actively used in the factory.

Facility operations in summary are: sub-level manufacture/assembly, engine assembly, engine test, preparation for customer & despatch for 6 different engine products at circa 350 per annum output. This encompasses all aspects of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People and includes: focused improvement activity, quality assurance & audit support, systemic problem solving, load & capacity planning, resource utilisation, reporting, training, development & New Product Introduction (NPI) & product readiness. Standing in for Manufacturing Manager when necessary. Build team responsible for the assembly for the Trent 700, Trent 900, Trent 1000-TEN and, soon to be, Trent 7000. Show less Responsible for managing one of the operations teams who assemble the Trent 700 & 900 engine ranges at our Derby operation. The Trent 700 is the engine of choice for the Airbus A330 and the Trent 900 for the A380 with 58% and over 50% market share respectively. My responsibilities include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the team, the sustainment of standards in the workplace, the quality of workmanship of the team, their training and competency, monitoring of manning levels, commitment to deadlines and hold the accountability for deviations from that delivery commitment. As well as being the point of escalation for the team to higher management and the supporting functions. Conduct self-directed improvement of our workplace organisation and shopfloor control, with the team, as well as drive improvement initiatives directed from our improvement function. Show less The Operations Management graduate scheme enabled myself to rotate through different functions and locations of the company in in order to gain key experiences and knowledge from the following key functions of operations: material and resource planning, purchasing, manufacturing engineering & improvement. Each of these rotations was in a different geographic location, in a new area of the business and lasted for 6 months. The scheme then culminated into a year long Production Leader role where I was part of a leadership group that managed the workforce, workload and work schedule of an aerospace manufacturing facility in the UK.       Responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain for both the beverage & food business out of Braunstone, Leicester. For first year this was entirely for Crown, across two divisions, and since September 2021 this has been working for both Crown & Eviosys; following the tinplate business acquisition by KPS from Crown. My official employment was directly with Crown however the site now supported two independent businesses. This was managed through agreements put in place to enable the team to operate on behalf of Eviosys legally despite being Crown employees. This transition period was necessary while Crown invested to build a new manufacturing facility elsewhere in the UK.
