Jan 2002 - Jan 2005ResearcherWhile in school at Bryant University I worked at the center as a researcher. The center helped local businesses that were looking to export their products globally. We would research the countries they were looking into and prepare reports which outlined their potential market share, competition, local partners, and many other aspects of exporting. Each semester we would be given a new company and work with a consultant gathering the information they needed for their reports. At the end of the semester we would provide a presentation to the companies with our findings. Show less

May 2002 - nowIn my role as Vice President of Atent for Rent I am involved in all aspects of running the company. This includes contracting new jobs, accounts payable/receivables, inventory management, staffing, customer relations, the procurement of supplies and equipment, vendor negotiations, computer and networking issues in the office, insurance audits, among many other common and other unique items that need to get done for the company to function. I have become proficient in time management, figuring out the unknown, and prioritizing tasks to make sure they are not only done correctly and on time. Everyday is different which makes the job exciting and enables me to learn something new all the time. I am able to use my skills to further enhance the company and continue it to grow. Show less When I graduated from Bryant University I was offered a full time position at Atent for Rent. My role as a crew lead continued but I also took on additional responsibilities in the office and throughout the company. One of the biggest changes was that I began marketing and procuring new jobs and clients. This involved answering the phones and emails of potential clients, working with them to match their needs with what we could provide, and performing site assessments to determine what would work best for them. Other roles and tasks I took on were updating our aging website and creating an "event builder form" that streamlined customers requests for quotes, implementing GPS tracking in our company trucks, upgrading our office phone systems, upgrading our computers and networking, consolidating the company cell phones, negotiating with vendors for supplies and equipment, hiring additional staff for the office and warehouse, training the staff, assisting employees in getting the appropriate licenses and certifications, and billing and customer service for our clients to name a few. Being given such an enormous range of tasks and responsibilities really enabled me to grow as a business professional. I was able to take what I learned in college and apply those skills to the real world. I became very resourceful and was soon seen as someone who could be given a task with little to no direction and I could figure out the appropriate actions to take and make sure it got done in a timely manner.
