I was the lead teacher for the 4th and 5th grade multi-aged classrooms. I specialized in teaching Reading and Social Studies. I created our curriculum based on the teaching of Leonardo daVinci, while meeting VA state SOLS. I was also the School culture chair on our school School Mission Team, which helped to shape and form our community school. In this position, I helped to create a positive school environment that aligns with our schools mission and vision. I also worked as the Social Sciences school chair, the SCA faculty representative, the assistant to the School Testing Coordinator, and talent show coordinator. While at MCCS I was a presenter for Virginia's Children Engineering Conference. I attended Harvard's Project Zero, and maintained a relationship with the DC's project zero community and Washington International School. My classroom was also featured on the CBS Morning Show and then again on most major news outlets when Brad Smith (Microsoft), Hardi Partovi (Code.org) and Ivanka Trump (STEAM Grants) lead a coding lesson.
