Make disposition decisions on powerplant matters to ensure airworthiness requirements are met while managing cost in an efficient and economic manner. Provided specialised powerplant technical advice to other ANZES staff as well as the airline as a whole. Liaise with OEM’s, vendors, lease companies, other operators and the airline to keep abreast of current technical and regulatory issues. Mentoring and education of other staff members to ensure that technical and regulatory requirements are met in a cost effective manner.Development of Major/Minor repairs and modifications for Air New Zealand and third party customer fleets.       Provided leadership and manage team workflow to ensure business priorities and objectives are met. Responsible for six Powerplant Engineers who manage eleven engine and APU types. Team responsibilities include on-wing support, configuration control, determination of the maintenance spec, operational support and repair, as well as fiscal accountability.Developed working relationships with various areas of responsibility within Air NZ to ensure engine operations are safe and reliable. Provide technical summaries to CAANZ, GM Tech Ops & Flight Ops and flight crews on important issues. Responsible for preparing engines for world-first biofuel test flight, achieved despite the test engine being AD non-compliant.Provided specialised technical knowledge and reasoning to the negotiation and implementation of engine management contracts and engine overhaul contracts. During this period ANZ inducted the RR Trent 895 and GE GE90-115B fleets.Prepared the RR RB211-524G3T fleet for entry onto the US register. Determine methodology to collate and search records to identify all repairs performed that were not FAA compliant. Manage repair rework and/or obtain FAA or OEM approval to make powerplants FAA acceptable. Aircraft were delivered on time and under budget. My initiative and actions directly avoided multi-million dollar penalties during final delivery negotiations. Maintained the responsibilities of the previous position. Show less
