      Through the Disaster Legal Services Program, the ABA Young Lawyers Division (ABA YLD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provide immediate temporary legal assistance to disaster survivors at no charge.The ABA YLD has been called upon to provide Disaster Legal Services through its relationship with FEMA. Working with state bar associations in the affected areas Disaster Legal Services’ toll-free hotlines have been established for survivors who cannot afford a lawyer. Disaster-related legal issues involve areas such as bankruptcy, contract and contractor problems, landlord/tenant, wills and insurance.
