      Crane bay packager

I worked as a Packager in the Crane Bay. I was responsible for unloading freight as it would come to us by flatbed trailer by using a Overhead Crane. Once the order was released I was to take dimensions of the customers product and build a shipping container by cutting wood and using nail guns, staple guns to put it together. Then crane lift the piece onto the deck, bolt it to the deck and build the walls around it. Once complete I was to put the required markings on the box by stencil. When the order was ready to be shipped I was than responsible to load the box again by overhead crane. Show less

      Apr 2010 - Sept 2014

As the 3rd shift Production Supervisor I was responsible of 85 employees and four departments. I communicated with other shift supervisors to ensure all shifts were on the same page and the line of communication was not broken. I was responsible for scheduling and staffing the shift by working with employment agencies when the need for staff was higher then usual. I scheduled my entire shift by typing up a detailed schedule placing each employee in their designated work area, so that the employees had knowledge of where they needed to report at the beginning of the shift. I needed to stay current on all of the USPS standard mail ,automated mail procedures, IMB barcode , and any changes so I could train my employees on these procedures. I worked closely with the USPS postal clerk to assist in the passing of the mail. All of my employees reported directly to me , so I was responsible for all vacation, time off as well as any disciplinary action needed. Show less
