  I was in charge of checking in patients and doing the basic work up with them. This included updating their medical history, asking basic questions about their vision and eyesight. I would perform peripheral vision tests and go ahead and record their vision on the eye chart. I was also permitted to take pictures of patient eyes. I would clean and sterilize exam equipment and exam rooms. I also ordered and fitted patients with the contact lenses recommended by the optometrist.

  My responsibilities with this job included posting salary information for all staff, faculty, and graduate students. I would check in packages and provide packing slips to the appropriate accounting personnel. I was in charge of purchasing and putting out refreshments for our various colloquiums and departmental events. I would do some accounting to assist the accounting staff. This included finding back up receipts and paperwork for purchases, as well as reconciling some accounts.
