      Jun 2013 - Aug 2013
      Digital Product Development Intern

Working across several different areas within the Global Mobility Department, I helped design, develop and create a new feature for the existing Mobile Banking Application. This involved getting public opinion and converting this into a useful and intuitive add on to the existing application. Whilst working on the app I also rebranded one of the key platforms for the bank coming up with a new identity, name and logo.My time in the bank, although brief, was an invaluable experience as it taught me the essential skills for working in any business and allowed me to implement essential business practice. • Tata Motors

      Aug 2013 - Sept 2013
Assistant Packaging Engineer - Work Experience

During my short time at Tata, I managed to gain an in-depth understanding and substantial experience within the Packaging department of the automotive industry. From helping conduct a Jury Trial on ergonomics to analysing the results and presenting them back to senior stakeholders within the department, I learned a great deal during my placement. I also spent my time shadowing the Design department to expand my knowledge of the design process and to create better communications between the packaging engineers and designers. Show less

    • BAE Systems

      Sept 2014 - Mar 2019

In this role I was responsible for managing projects that delivered significant strategic value to the business, whether that be improving capability or infrastructure. I developed in-depth business cases for major strategic investment and presented them to both the business and the customer to obtain approval. Once approved, I delivered the projects to enable the company to deliver their commitments to the customer. This ranged from developing an abandoned facility into a center of excellence for modular builds, to the introduction of robotic welding into the production environment. Within these projects I coordinated with sub-contractors through the relevant supply-chain channels, to scope out and cost the acquisition or removal of assets as well as communicating and working with other internal teams to ensure successful integration. Show less As an Operations Strategy Coordinator I generated and presented strategic resource mitigation proposals to key stakeholders, that took into account several influencing factors including the company’s strategic goals. I forecast resource demands across several programmes, involving several different scenarios for each programme, to allow the team to make informed strategic decisions. I also authored the Operational Resource Strategy Plan that outlines the capability and development of the Operations workforce. Show less As a graduate at BAE Systems I was given the incredible opportunity to try my hand at several different roles within the Operation function, some of which are highlighted below.Reverse Mentoring- Co-founded and established a fully embedded Reverse Mentoring Scheme within the Business Unit as a stretch assignment.- Developed a detailed communications plan, brand, identity and framework for the scheme to run by that produced tangible outputs and outcomes.- Negotiated and owned a budget that was used to cover costs for travel, research and development and putting on supporting workshops and events.Continuous Improvement Coach- Facilitated workshops on the theory of Lean Manufacturing and worked with a team to develop the content for the workshops.- Transferred the theory out of the office and into the shop-floor environment. Worked to implement ‘right first time’ and ‘rapid review meetings’ in the live manufacturing environment.- Assisted with the roll out of Schedule Based Working across the site.Production Supervisor- Managed a small team of tradesmen, ensuring that they had the right tools, materials and technical information required to complete the task.- Communicated daily handovers to the backshift Supervisor.- Delegated the day’s workload effectively so as to complete the task, on several occasions, ahead of schedule.- Successfully transformed an abandoned facility to be an area suitable for manufacturing Aluminium sub-assemblies, accounting for facility, resource, funding and health and safety requirements.Production Engineer- Enabled the design and implementation of a pallet system that allowed steel plates to be delivered to the shop floor in the sequence required.- Co-ordinated with sub-contractors, going through the relevant Supply Chain channels, to scope out and cost the moving of a Fairing Gantry within the Fabrication Area.
