The experience was useful in providing me with insight into effective project management.

  Logging Geologist for one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies. Baker Hughes provides the oil and gas industry with products and services for drilling, formation evaluation, completion, production and reservoir evaluation. I was responsible for providing geological logging analysis through physical examination of drill bit cuttings, whilst using real time LWD and drilling data to aid my interpretations. Upon well completion I was responsible for the production of formation evaluation logs and end of well reports. I assisted with primary well control surveillance and monitoring of drilling fluid gas content. Show less

  Field Engineer for Scientific Drilling International (SDI). SDI is a leading provider in the global wellbore navigation and cased hole logging sector for the energy services industry. Accountable for operation of running gyroMWD modules for clients such as Baker Hughes and Halliburton, for the precise placement of new wellbores within specific geologic strata, as determined by the operator’s subsurface geoscience teams. Cross trained to operate SDI’s suite of cased hole logging tools which provide operator petrophysicists with reservoir evaluation data, production flow logging and well integrity analysis. Success included helping operators to deliver numerous well workover plans by providing the technical expertise and problem solving skills needed for accurate data acquisition at the rig site for later petrophysical evaluation and integration into subsurface models. Show less Selected for secondment to the Norwegian district office to help lead in the field the operation of SDI’s new gyroMWD modules for Baker Hughes and Halliburton. Responsible for the testing, calibration and fitting of the modules onshore as well as operation of them offshore. Highlights included helping facilitate the successful delivery of a number of challenging well kick offs for both Equinor and Lundin on some of their assets in the Norwegian North Sea, as well as working within AkerBP’s state of the art integrated operations centre for the remote operation of their offshore fields.
