Clients range from large investment corporations to retail businesses, each with bespoke requirements. In some cases, the business wishes to integrate its pension management with the main portal, Lifelens, to allow employees to view their investment pots and change their contributions. This requires a large amount of coordination within Standard Life areas, as currently the pensions infrastructure is held differently to flexible benefits. Matrix management is a must as is negotiation skills, as many of these departments consider Lifelens to be very different to pensions, and in terms of revenue is smaller overall, resulting in the opinion that this is less important. Lifelens is a completely configurable system, with an almost unlimited number of configurations, meaning every project is different and brings its own set of challenges.
