Under my supervision, the hospital went through numerous changes that included: Implementation of new automated dispensing cabinets, CPOE, and decentralization of the pharmacists - all while having to reduce the staff by approximately 10%. This job involved compliance calls to patients for Medicare Part D STARS medications, performing MTM services, patient assistance programs, and fulfillment of patient pill boxes. Patients had the opportunity to participate in an appointment based refill program, which involved the pharmacy staff contacting the patient 1 week prior to their refill date. The staff could then contact the physician for any necessary refills and order any shortages so the patient did not have any partial fills.
