  Molecular radiotherapy (MRT) uses unsealed radioactive nuclides to target and destroy cancer cells. MRT is a model for personalised anti-cancer therapy based on state-of-the-art imaging. The field of MRT is in rapid development and has been identified as a high priority area by the Clinical and Translational Radiotherapy Research Working Group (CTRad) of the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI).Raydose is a high profile research project originally funded by the National Institute for Social Care and Health Research (NISCHR) under the Health Research Award Programme involving Velindre NHS Trust, the All Wales Positron Emission Tomography Centre, Cardiff University and the University Hospital of Bologna (Italy) (contract reference number HA/09/03, 2009-2011). Subsequently Raydose was funded by the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET) under the Research Excellence Framework Programme (contract reference number HLT11-REG1). The Raydose project deals with development of a Monte Carlo based dose calculation system for MRT delivered with matched pair of radionuclides such as I124 and I131 or with therapeutic compounds that can be directly imaged with PET or SPECT (e.g. Y90 and Lu177). The calculation of highly accurate dose maps is carried out using computer code developed by us on top of the Geant4 Simulation toolkit from CERN. Main Responsibilities:- Develop a Graphical User Interface that can be used to take Raydose to the level of a Treatment Planning System for MRT.- With RaydoseGUI the user will be able to carry out operations such as :1) Loading the clinical datasets 2) Selecting the scans to be used for treatment3) Specifying calculation parameters and options4) Executing the MC calculation5) Displaying the dose calculation overlaid with diagnostic scans and volumes of interest Tunjukkan kurang
