    • The University of Edinburgh

      2018 - 2022
Doctor of Philosophy - PhD World Christianity

My PhD critically explores Asian-American feminist theologies of hybridity and migration from the perspective of migrant Zomi women who have migrated from Myanmar to Europe. I examine the ways in which their lived experiences and spiritualities align with, and challenge, existing feminist theologies on questions of identity and belonging. Rooted in theology but interdisciplinary in approach, I utilise qualitative research methods in my construction of a Zomi women’s theology of migration.

Activities and Societies: Committee Member of New College Missionary Society. My dissertation presented a comparison between Asian-American feminist theology and the theologies of migrant Zomi women in the UK. I used social-scientific methodology in combination with auto-ethnography as a means of engaging with Asian-American feminist theology, moving towards a constructive theology drawn from the lives and experiences of low-income migrant Zomi women in Britain.
