Theatre Assistant - Trauma & Orthopaedics

This role was very similar to my role as Theatre Assistant in Critical Care. The Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Center is a smaller department of only 5 theatres instead of 10 and instead of operating 24/7 like the main theatre department does, PEOC only operates during the hours of 8am-8pm and the surgery is all elective meaning all operations were planned in advance.

    • Collaboration Events Limited

      Oct 2008 - Feb 2016

Back in December 2012 I came up with the idea of combining crowdfunding technology with online ticketing and event management tools. Ever since then I've been working on developing the idea and building a management team capable of driving the business forward.Originally the company was registered as Collaboration Events Limited but in 2013 a new company was born (CrowdCanDo Ltd.) and Collaboration Events Limited is now a daughter company of CrowdCanDo Ltd.Collaboration Events is an event organising company that utilises the CrowdCanDo® platform in order to organise a range of events from concerts and conferences to festivals and fun runs! Using the Fixed Funding option on CrowdCanDo® we intend on disrupting the events and ticketing industries through innovation and creative forward thinking! We're putting the power in the hands of the crowd in a true collaborative style!!Take a look at the two images below and see how the CrowdCanDo® brand has grown and evolved into what it is today! Let us know what you think of our design... We love feedback here at CrowdCanDo! Show less Collaboration originally started back in 2008 when myself and a group of friends got together and started organising local music events at which we also performed. By collaborating both on stage and back in the office we were able to pull all of our resources together and host some very successful events. After promoting not only ourselves but other local talent we decided that we wanted to start booking bigger acts and in December 2009 we made our first artist booking and since then every event we did got bigger and better. In March 2010 I became a personal license holder and in July 2010 I hired and licensed an empty venue and we started booking artists such as BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Crissy Criss, Belgian DJ and Producer Borris Daenen better known as Netsky and Austrian pair Camo & Krooked otherwise known as Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner. After leaving full time employment I couldn’t afford to host any more events and the last event we done as a group was a charity event back in December 2011. After that I went on a self teaching web masters course and started offering basic web services such as web development and hosting.Ever since we started Collaboration I always knew that organising events is what I enjoyed most and with my keen interest in web technologies around christmas time 2012 I came up with the idea of combining online ticketing with crowd funding in order to provide organisers, promoters and planners with a flexible management platform that eliminates all of the financial risk.I'm a strong believer in the meaning of the word Collaboration and it's been proven that when we all share the same vision and everyone works together, bigger and better things can be achieved. This is where I believe the difference between good and bad event management lies. A good event manager will know how to get the best out of everyone, making sure they have what they need so everyone can move to the same beat. Show less

This was an extremely varied role but my main responsibilities were to contribute towards the smooth running of the department by creating both a clean and safe working environment for staff and patients alike. Other responsibilities included assisting all other members of staff during surgery, delivering specimens and escorting patients to and from theatre.

      Webmaster

After working in various roles and spending nearly 4 years within the NHS I decided I wanted to work for myself. With so many ideas I had to focus on something so I completed a web-master course, learning the basics of web development and familiarising myself with web technologies, including web and email hosting. I then used these skills to build and manage a number of websites for family, friends and small businesses while also working on a number of my own projects. Completely self taught I started using Content Management Systems such as Joomla and WordPress, eventually moving on to learn more complex systems Bootstrap for front-end development and Balsamic for low fidelity prototyping and Wireframe designs. My current focus is on enhancing User Experience and in my spare time I'm learning how to use Adobe CC with a particular interest in Adobe XD, Illustrator and Photoshop.Recently started using Oxygen Builder for WordPress and I'm excited to start implementing more interactive designs using jQuery and I'm very enthusiastic about learning more front-end development such as React.
