      My first four years at HyClone was spent in production, as a production tech. The last two and a half years was as the safety coordinator. I took care of weekly auditing of areas, new hire orientation, facilitated the safety committee, and did monthly inspections. I was in charge of the hazardous waste cage, and keep an inventory of it, and arranged for shipments when they were needed. I put together and trained teammates on various safety topics including HazCom, LO/TO, BBP, and emergency procedures. Show less

I received a degree in Public Health and Safety, with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene. I also earned a minor in Chemistry.While in school, I coordinated and lead several study groups in various chemistry and safety classes. Set up and ran safety lab equipment, wrote reports on the findings of all monitoring.While a safety intern at Westinghouse, I took the lead on a noise abatement project for the Bar and Wire area that resulted in an 9 dB reduction in noise, bringing the area down from 95 dB to 86 dB.

Lead daily safety meetings, and investigated any incidents or accidents.Site Safety Manager for the Red Dog Mine Slurry Wall Project. This five-week project was located at the Red Dog Mine in Alaska, and entailed a 15 man crew working 12 hours a day, seven days a week until the project was completed. During the project we faced many adverse conditions including weather, temperature, and environmental hazards.
