      I conducted a two-year Participatory Action Research study that aimed to gain in-depth knowledge on the experiences of mothers caring for disabled children in the township of Khayelitsha, South Africa and to co-ignite a process of social change. I used qualitative and quantitative methods to provide data on their level of well-being, caregiving practices, challenges, and possibilities for change. Then, meaningful projects were identified and executed by the mothers and facilitated by myself.
