      2003 - 2008
PhD Computational Chemistry / Molecular Modelling

Activities and Societies: I was the student representative for the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) BioActive Science Group (BSG) from 2005 – 2006, organising a student conference entitled ‘Modelling the Properties and Behaviour of Molecules’ which was held on the 22nd September 2006.

      Jun 2008 - Jul 2009
Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge Fellowship

Working on project entitled MOLDY. Focused on the development and validation of a series of novel membrane lipid models and their effect on β2-adrenoceptor conformations through molecular dynamics simulation.A version of these models was also developed for use with AMBER.The ToK involved writing a series of lectures on Conformational Analysis to be taught at Undergraduate level.

    • MRC Prion Unit

      Nov 2011 - Nov 2012
      Research Database Officer

Largely data organisation and cleansing, database setup and implementation, with some opportunity for programming aimed at bioinformatics.

    • UCL

      Nov 2012 - Dec 2018
      Digital Image Analyst

I provide image analysis method development, training and support for a range of studies using the Definiens software programI worked with a number of groups with a range of interests, for example looking at neurons in epilepsy cases, spongiosis in prion cases, proliferation heterogeneity in tumor cases and muscle structure in various pathologies, to name a few.Digital pathology is no longer just a useful tool, it is becoming an essential part of histological analysis, often a requirement for publication, so it is important to ensure we are using efficient and reliable techniques. To this end I continue to develop new and improve old analysis methods with a focus on automation to reduce the human factor in any analysis. Show less
