  As the Station Captain, I oversee all operations and subordinates’ emergency and non-emergency performance for one of two designated Kern County urban search and rescue stations.  Conduct crucial natural disaster and emergency training, and monitor and maintain specialized equipment used in procedures.  Recognized by Bakersfield College for Firefighter I program support.I also presently served as the Lead Instructor, a role I have held from 2006: Develop and carry out curriculum for Kern High School District Regional Occupational Center Firefighter Training Program to prepare students for firefighting careers. My previous role as Training Officer from 2005 to 2006 allowed me to: Orchestrated and executed rescue training and truck operations, and ensure drivers’ licensing at Kern County Fire Department Training Facility, Bakersfield, CA.Another of my duties is engage as the Structure Fire Working Group Member, a position I've committed myself to since 2014:  Analyze present protocols to offer improvement initiatives reflective of NIST research and corroborated by work of UL laboratories and NIST. Encourage acceptance and implement change under new SOP to develop and deliver field personnel training.  Collaborated to design and implement Firefighter Survival and May Day training plans.As the present Urban Search and Rescue Captain, a position I've held since 2012 I: Participate in multiple standards committees to identify, develop, and recommend equipment needs, personnel training, teachers, and class scheduling.
