UPS launched this exciting new service last year as a way to improve the delivery experience for consumers throughout the United States. You may have seen the extensive media coverage during the holiday season, including segments on The Today Show and Good Morning America.With this new service, UPS makes an initial delivery attempt at the consumer’s home. If no one is at home to accept delivery and if UPS is unable to leave the package then UPS will leave a delivery notice on the door and deliver the package to a convenient UPS Access Point location™ in the neighborhood. This significantly improves the delivery experience for consumers, as they are now able to more conveniently retrieve their package, on their schedule, without waiting the next day for delivery or having to travel to a UPS facility. From daily center dispatch to vehicle management; from building & facilities expansions to data research planning; from the Democratic National Convention to technology deployments (route optimization, gps tracking, and special customer deliveries). Show less I was the lead manager in charge of all the delivery, pickup, marketing and branding efforts for UPS during the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado. I organized a team of approximately 60 management people within UPS. I worked hand in hand with local police, fire department, the United States Secret Service, Postal Inspection Team and the participating venues. This project extra consideration as there were three separate security locations that required extensive planning, coordination and clearance.
