LEADERSHIP SKILLS/PLANNING/PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Designed and conducted a two-year research project to discover cell lines sensitive to C. perfringens epsilon toxin and assessing Roche xCELLigence system for high-throughput screening capacity and correlation with standard methods. This study discovered nine cell lines with previously unknown sensitivity. Coordinated and participated in molecular standards development for B. microti, E. faecalis [Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) water quality testing], Mycoplasma species, and influenza A. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Produced products (e.g. Synthetic RNA standards), developed assays [e.g. droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) assays], ran QC tests, optimized assays (e.g. qPCR), conducted studies on a variety of select and non-select agents, bacteria, viruses, toxins, fungi, mammalian cells, small-molecule inhibitors, and genetic material for both commercial and government contracts.
