By 2012, completed data archiving for over 128 production databases resulting in a 30% average increase in application database performance. This also represented a potential cost avoidance and reuse opportunity of $700k – $1,500k in infrastructure investment and over 1,100 labor hours implementing storage increases. Show less Managed team of senior DBAs responsible for engineering the database standards for HP-IT's global database administration organization. Responsible for standards and operational procedures for Oracle and SQL Server databases migrated to the ‘next generation’ data centers. Over a 4-year period, the Engineering team maintained “cookie-cutter” configurations that allowed rapid creation of database platforms for mass application migrations which streamlined over 3,000 application migrations into these new data centers. This included configuration and database creation, developing common guides and processes for managing Oracle and SQL Server database environments. Technologies implemented as part of global standards were Oracle 11g, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server 2005/2008 and Microsoft’s System Center Operations Manager (SCOM). Partnering with Oracle, the team deployed one of the largest Oracle Enterprise Manager repositories outside of Oracle with over 3,000 target instances. Maintained the HP-IT database technology roadmap ensure consistent delivery and communication of all database technologies.
