Presently he is working on cases involving Indian trust accounting for the Osage Shareholders, environmental contamination by lead and cadmium in Blackwell, Oklahoma and the toxic pollution of residents of Ponca City by Conoco-Phillips. Jason’s research is focused on Sustainable Development, Energy Justice and Indigenous Rights. International Environmental Law (2009-present): The course is divided into three parts, focusing first on environmental policy, then public international law, and is completed with a moot court exercise. In the past two years, the class has been integrated with the Stetson Moot Court Competition for International Environmental Law.Water Law (2011-2012 in person, 2013-present online): This course is divided into two parts, with the first part covering the substantive issues, including riparian and appropriation doctrines, groundwater law, water organizations, interstate allocation, federal rights, and Indian rights. The second part of the court is a moot administrative proceeding, followed by a moot judicial appeal. Show less This is a unique opportunity to create an entirely new degree program (Master of Jurisprudence), including designing the curriculum, recruiting faculty and students, determining policy, and organizing the administrative systems necessary to successfully onfer two degrees: 1) the Master of Jurisprudence in Energy Law, and 2) the Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law. Both of these degrees are the first of their kind in the world, offered entirely on-line. This work has an academic focus as its primary and most important element. The degree programs are focused on energy and Indian law, within my areas of competence. Show less
