  Veterinary Assistant

  Started as a volunteer at the animal hospital, after two weeks of volunteering was offered a part-time position as a Veterinary Assistant. Helped the veterinarians in array of jobs from surgery preparation, lab work, desk work, kennel cleaning, and just about every task that the veterinarians needed assistance with.

  Worked at a private school for kids that have gone through rehabilitation programs. I worked as a mentor to help be an example and keep the students accountable for their actions. Was promoted to Assistant Team Leader in October of 2019 to help lead the team on my shifts and take over in the case the Team Leader is unavailable.

  Working with the public inspecting/decontaminating boats to help stop the spread of invasive species, mainly the Quagga mussel. Time was spent during inspections to educate the public about the importance of keeping invasive species from spreading.

  Decontamination Specialist

  Lead Decontamination Specialist for Willard Bay State Park. In charge of decontaminating an array of aquatic vessels and educating boaters on the dangers of aquatic invasive species. Trained my fellow seasonal co-workers to perform decontaminations. During the summer months, led a team of four decontamination specialists to work through our duties smoothly. When visitors did not bring their boats for decontamination would aide with park maintenance. Park maintenance revolving around cleaning and maintenance of bathrooms, beaches, walking trails, etc.. Using an array of tools from simple drills to chainsaws. Due to my fluency in the Spanish language, I was asked by the park rangers and gate staff to help translate with our hispanic visitors. Throughout the entire six months, I ensured to work hard and efficient. For my efforts I was awarded the ABC (Above and Beyond the Call) award for my efforts in all of my duties within the park.
