      As VP, Sevy was in charge of running logistics on competitions, supplying resources to students making robots, supporting the president, and most importantly building structure to ensure longevity of Mines Robotics Club. As treasurer Sevy directly managed and helped grow the club budget from $0 to $10,000 per year. He was heavily involved in raising funds from donors and through philanthropy. For two years, Sevy communicated, spent, and successfully tracked all robotics expenditures.

The class is taught by two students and a faculty mentor who are resources for first years to learn about all aspects of student life. Sevy often meets with his mentees and gives them advice on succeeding at Mines and getting involved.

      Maker Society believes in the mission that "Anyone Can Make Anything".As President, Sevy Swift lead the creation and execution of this mission. The team developed resources to allow hands-on learning for all members of the Mines community.       Sevy Swift was elected by the Colorado School of Mines student body (undergraduate and graduate) to represent them to the Board of Trustees. He also disseminates to student governments (USG/GSG) and the student body important decisions made by the Trustees pertaining to tuition, fees, capital plans, new programs, and other student concerns.Sevy Swift was elected for two terms. A peer mentor teaches CSM 101 (Freshman Success Seminar). This class instructs first years on how to succeed and become acquainted with Colorado School of Mines. The class is taught by two students and a faculty mentor who are resources for first years to learn about all aspects of student life. Sevy often meets with his mentees and gives them advice on succeeding at Mines and getting involved. An Oredigger-Camp counselor helps organize and run a camp in the mountains of Colorado for new Mines students just before they come to college. The magic of camp is the community that is formed between the new members of the Mines community.

      - Spearheaded the detailed mechanical product requirements and helped guide the product development lifecycle.- Given a safety first mindset, documented the safety requirements and failure modes. Designed 15 test plans and built assembly fixtures to iterate the design and improve user safety. - Led the DFM robot communication with a US-based factory for 18 months.- Ensured functionality and presented the product in media videos and at eight shows (including three CESs). - Iteratively designed in ten months a works-like-looks-like robot with ten functional sub-assemblies and 800+ parts using SolidWorks 3D CAD, 2D drawings GD&T, and team ideation. - Personally prototyped and built six robots using 3D printing, machine shop tools, and part purchasing.- Interfaced with builders and vendors to order parts that were silicone molded, CNCd, and welded.- Ensured prototype reliability in pilot studies through recurrent servicing and documentation.
